Open Morning

Today our annual Open Morning took place.  Visitors saw the children developing their reading, writing and creative skills by working on book making activities.

In Catkin Class the children used the role-play and small world areas to inspire their story writing. They created story maps, storyboards and pages for a class and individual books on the theme of 'minibeasts'.

Acorn Class made 'Zines'; handmade, cut and paste books.  Inspired by their philosophy for children enquiry about zoos, each child considered the arguments and then wrote and illustrated their own book.

Chestnut Class pupils made books for the younger children in Catkin Class. They also wrote a collaborative story, where each child continued the story from where the previous person had finished.  The end result was very interesting.
