Acorn Class visits Bignor Roman Villa

The second half of our autumn term got off to a flying start as Acorn Class went to Bignor Roman Villa!

As you can see from the pictures above, children had a wonderful time. When they arrived they were allowed to dress up as different Romans, from the Slaves who did everything, up to the Emperor himself protected by his loyal guards. The children were treated to a guided tour around the Villa by the staff, where they got to see some of the marvellous mosaics and the artefacts that were uncovered from the site.

After a well earned lunch, the children then had the opportunity to take part in several activities, including writing on wax tablets with a stylus, creating mosaics and grinding corn into flower using Quern stones. Children will now write up their experiences in English this week.
