PE at Slindon

At Slindon Church of England Primary school we recognise the importance that physical education, active lifestyles and competitive sports have in helping prepare pupils for life. Therefore, we believe that all children at our school should be physically literate with the required knowledge, skills and motivation so they can have a lifelong participation in physical activity and sport. As a result, all children in Key Stage 1 and 2 are provided with 2 hours of curriculum physical education a week, plus opportunities to engage in extra-curricular sports clubs and they are encouraged to have active playtimes and lunchtimes to ensure every child is getting the recommended 60 minutes of activity per day. We also enter a number of competitive tournaments throughout the year as it allows the children to engage in the wider community and foster positive relationships with other schools.
