Headteachers Welcome

******* COVID-19 *******

Hello friends. During this very strange and somewhat difficult time, we want you to know that we are here for you. If you are a member of our school community or someone from our wider community who needs help, then please let us know. You can call our school number on (01243) 814330, leave a message with your phone number and Miss Cooper will call you back. You are not alone.

Many of our staff are, quite rightly, staying at home during this period, because they themselves or the people they live with are vulnerable. But we have enough staff to deliver our free school meals, look after any children of critical workers and keep the home learning pages going.

There is no pressure or expectation from us with regard to home learning. We suggest you do whatever is needed to reduce anxiety, be calm and sit tight. Mental health is more important than academic skills. We'll keep in regular contact with our families and expect you to call us, if you need us.

If you are a prospective parent reading this, then we cannot wait until we can show you around our amazing school again, one day soon. But until then, lets all be amazing together; have courage, be patient and be kind!

Lucy Cooper

Welcome to our school. We hope that our website offers you a glimpse of life at Slindon Church of England Primary School, but to really appreciate how unique and special we are, you really ought to pay us a visit!

Our school is an exciting place to learn and work. We are set within the South Downs National Park, in the beautiful National Trust village of Slindon, near Arundel in West Sussex. We take every advantage of the beautiful grounds that we have, including the forest that we have direct access to. Learning Outside the Classroom is at the heart of our curriculum. Last year we spent 2,900 participant days learning outside, comparable to a small secondary school. So we do more than 'Forest School'. Being outside is what we do and how we learn.

And we learn well. Our calm and happy school facilitates the behaviour for learning that ensures our success. Our Christian Values, being a Rights Respecting School and our therapeautic approach to behaviour each contribute to a climate where each of our children feel safe and are able to thrive. Our results speak for themselves in the progress and attainment that we have made over the last two years.

We don't believe in SATs booster groups, we just believe wholeheartedly in the strength of our engaging and meaningful curriculum. We believe that education needs to change and we've been implementing that change over the last two years. So you're reading this at an exciting time. If you don't want to miss out, you might want to get involved!

Call us on 01243 814330 or email office@slindonprimary.co.uk to arrange a visit.

We look forward to meeting you.
