Our Christian Values

The Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control; against such things there is no law.

Galatians 50; 22-23

As a Christian school, the Christian values that guide us every day are intrinsic to our policy, practice and pedagogy. The Fruits of the Spirit ‘Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control’, reflect the lived experience within our school community.

Our Christian vision guides all members of our school community. It is intrinsic to our reflections of the biblical teaching within Collective Worship and not just our learning within Religious Education, but within the wider curriculum. It enables our children to achieve well, within a loving community of all-encompassing acceptance of all which is transformational for all.

The four overarching principles of the school ensure that all children are recognised as unique. The school celebrates each unique individual member of the school community as made in the image of God.

As a school, we promote and foster a positive relationship between the church and school, and with God.

We respect that everybody learns and develops in different ways. Collective worship is inspiring, inclusive and invitational, and along with Religious Education uses a vocabulary that encourages the whole school community to attend, engage and participate.

The calm climate for learning within our school, along with dedicated prayer spaces and spaces for reflection and response, provide an enabling environment for children to flourish and to feel connected to God, within the awe of the South Downs National Park.
